Privacy Policy — TheDreamJob Chrome Extension

Last updated: 11/10/2026

What the extension keeps on your computer

In the extension's local storage (not accessible to websites):

  • your TheDreamJob sign-in token;
  • the last 40 messages of your conversation with the assistant;
  • an internal counter so you are not notified twice about the same new item.

"Sign out" removes the token, the conversation, and the counter.

What the extension sends to TheDreamJob

Only to thedreamjob.co.uk, and only when you use the related feature:

  • Checking for updates (every minute): your token.
  • Job search: the keywords, city and type (job/internship) you enter.
  • Saving a job: the link, title, company and description of the job you save.
  • Assistant: the messages in your conversation (20 most recent at most).
  • "Does my CV match?": the text of the listing shown (or text you selected). The server reads the CV on your TheDreamJob profile; the CV is not sent by the extension.
  • "Estimated salary": the job title and, where known, the location.

Web pages you visit

The extension does not read any page continuously. A page's content is only read when you open the "This page" tab (and, if you have granted the optional permission, when you switch pages while that tab is open). That content stays in your browser unless you click one of the actions above. Your browsing history is neither read nor recorded.

Third-party services

To answer, TheDreamJob's servers use Google (Custom Search for listings from other sites; the Gemini model for the assistant, CV comparison and salary estimates). Text sent for these features is passed to them by our server, under their own terms.

What we do not do

  • No advertising, no analytics tracking inside the extension, no reselling of data.
  • No data is sent to any server other than TheDreamJob's.

Your rights

You can sign out of the extension, uninstall it, or ask for your TheDreamJob account and data to be deleted via our contact page, at any time.
